Ages ago Jason told me I should see Intern starring Dominique Swain and even though the title and the starring actress made me think it would be some taudry thriller, I finally watched it on Netflix On Demand. Good thing I did because turns out, it’s hilarious and silly! I think I’m going to make this movie mandatory viewing for my own summer interns, though Lucky is a much nicer and more sane place to work than the fictional magazine in the movie called Skirt. The movie’s fashion cameos are a hoot as are the secondary players including Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers and James Urbaniak.

Intern is that kind of surprisingly entertaining though decidedly C-level movie I used to stumble upon at the video store, when I used to frequent video stores, or on late night TV. Add it to your queue if you like implausible romantic comedies set in ridiculously campy workplaces.
